Third-party auditors are independent, accredited, known as Certification Bodies within the 4C System

In the 4C System, the standard itself is developed and overseen by the 4C team, but compliance is verified independently. To ensure transparency, credibility, and trust, 4C follows a third-party certification model. All audits are conducted by external, accredited auditors who apply the standard objectively across global supply chains.

4C Core Certification

A producer group wishing to obtain 4C certified can check the list of responsible auditors operating in the country of production (column: “countries to conduct 4C audits”).

4C Chain of Custody Certification

To obtain Chain of Custody certified there is no limitation by country.
